Research and Statistics

A survey of research methods and statistics as they apply to clinical mental health counseling. Topics include philosophical issues, rigor, types of psychological research, descriptive and inferential statistics, experimental and correlational methods, qualitative methods, test construction, needs assessments, program evaluation, research ethics, the structure of research reports, and strategies for literature searches. The course seeks to be applicable and useful for both professional and personal growth and includes lectures, discussion, and practice exercises.
