Rethinking the History of Performance: From Antiquity to the 1700's
This course is a survey of the history of theater and performance from early oral and written traditions up to the 1700s. It goes beyond the boundaries of Euro-American perspectives and examines performance in world terms through the lens of theater anthropology. Viewing performance as a natural instinct of humans, this course introduces students to the basics of critical theory. Prerequisite: COR110.Course Number: PAR240
